Celebrations

Please enjoy the next two posts! Sorry I have so much to post about they seem a littel scatter-brained and I know some of the words are spelled wrong but i was trying to hurry, and I was getting a little A.D.D. about blogging. SO ENJOY! -Nolans BDAY & Laurens Shower

Nolans 25th Birthday

November 8th was Nolans 25th birthday!!! I can't believe my sweetheart is 25!! I was excited for his brithday and wanted to do my best to make it special. Nolan is awesome at making my birthdays special and I never feel quite up to par next to him. So I surprised him with a special dinner invitation while he was at work. When he got home I made him a special dinner and decorated our little place!

My sweet birthday boy!

SUPRISE!! (he just got home from the gym)

Cheese cake bites for dessert.

The candle lit dinner.
It was a fun to celebrate and have a special night together. I hope he liked it and I just wanted him to know that he is loved and that I am so grateful for him.
THEN...
We also threw a party with the Payne family. I wanted it to be fun once again and I feel like this party went over very well and we all had a blast. Here is what we did...It was a 'Night at the Movies' I gave Nolan tickets and through out the evening he had the pleasure of handing them out to people who he felt deserved them. Here are some examples:
Mom: she got tickets for cooking and amazing dinner
Dad: for helping with dinner
Shanna: for beat-boxing and entertaining the family to tears of laughter
Ali: for beating her boy at shooting
Staci: for answering a trivia question about Nolan
Nolan at Dinner with his "you are special today" plate. This is a tradition in the Payne home.

Kissing the birthday boy!
Then...We played NOLAN PICTIONARY. All the words were about Nolan and we had teams take turns drawing them and earning tickets for each word that was guessed. We also played the "left and right" game to a story about NOlan. We passed around envelopes with secret numbers of tickets in them. Whatever envelope you ended up with at the end of the story is your gift. Then with all your tickets you could purchase: enterance into the MOVIE and you could buy your treats and popcorn with the tickets you won through out the night! Nolan chose the movie Ice Age 3. We had so much fun!

I was SOOOOO excited for Nolans gift this year. He has been wanting a Grill ever since we were married. I new I was getting him a grill for almost a year! My dad helped me pick out a nice one and the whole family went in on it with me. HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I don't have a picture of it but I will post one soon because he can't stop grilling! It's great that he cooks a lot and he can't stop talking about how much he loves his grill. WE SCORED WITH THE GIFT!

His denver broncos wrapping paper. He got a grill cover too!

Nolan LOVES to rip open presents as fast as he possibly can
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY MAN!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Laurens Shower

My best friend Lauren is having a baby girl in December. So of course we have to celebrate! I threw a shower for her and baby Avery (hopefully, I want her to choose this name) She has been such a good friend to me and I wanted to make this day special for her because we have been talking about having babies since the day we met! I am so excited for her and can't wait to see the little doll!

So grateful

This brave, courageous, and selfless man is like so many others in this world that have deserved the right to a title..the title of VETERAN. What an honor it is to be married to this amazing man who has definitely earned this title.
To earn this title you may have to check these off your list of things to do:
-Leave a new bride, the mother of your children, the love of your life, knowing you may never see her again and live with thoughts of what will happen if you don't.
-Leave a sobbing child yelling "come back daddy, come back" as your bus drives into the dust.
- You will have to walk away from the family you love as tears are streaming down their face.
- You may have to sleep in a dusty tent with walls you built yourself.
- You may have to work 40 hours or more in row without being drowsy for that could cost you, your life
- YOu may have to spend Christmas alone thinking about how it would be to be with your loved ones.
-You may have to spend everyday in a foreign country far far away and eat yucky cafeteria food for every meal, every day.
-You may have to go to the mailbox each day just hoping that there will be some encouraging words, pictures, or a card. Even though you love recieving these more than anything, they may bring a sting to your heart because you long to be with them.
-You may have to miss your babies birth, your childs first birthday, and maybe two others.
- You may have to watch your friends, and your comrads leave this earth to a tragic death.
-YOu may have to live with the aweful nightmares of that day your friends left. Wake up with sweat on your brow and panic in your heart.
-You may have to listen to sobbing wife tell you she can't make it one more day without you and you can't help but feel guilty for putting her through the pain.
- You may suffer from serious injury, it might cause you to be in pain the rest of your life.
- You may come home and have to re-learn how to live, how to care, how to think, how to drive without fear of a bomb going off.
- You may have to go a day, or two, or a week or two without talking to your wife and children.
- You will raise your hand in an oath to defend this country even if it takes your own life.

THESE ARE JUST OF THE FEW OF THINGS YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE AS YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE AS A VETERAN. THANK YOU. ALL OF YOU. YOU ARE INCREDIBLE.

My sweet veteran. I can just tell this look on his face. He is trying to have fun and be happy but he looks exhausted.

No words can describe this moment in my life.

I love you Nolan. Thankyou for your service and sacrifice. I am truely amazed by your courage and pride for this country. To you and your fellow service men and women. THank you. I LOVE YOU! Happy Veterans Day.

Moms are amazing...

So I have so much to blog about, but keep forgetting to upload my pics. Anyway this is such a cute and funny story, but yet so true. ENJOY!!!

What do you do all day??
A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and 20 wrappers strewn all around the front yard.
The door of his wife's car was open, and so the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess.. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.
In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.
In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.
He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.
He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door.
As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor.
Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.
As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel.
She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.
He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?'
She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?'
Yes,' was his incredulous reply.
She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.

Another one to All you ladies...

WARNING...very girly information...

So as you know we are going on a cruise in a week..

This means I will be in a swimsuit all day everyday. Which for us girls means lots and lots of shaving. SO I think i want to get a bikini wax? I am terrified!! Here are my thoughts: I want to not worry about shaving that area everyday it hurts and gets irritated! Even though I shave i have dark dark hair so it still shows my pores and I swear you can still see the hair. I have had a few friends get brazilians and they say that the bikini part is the worst part. IT TERRIFIES me!! But i am wondering if the pain is worth it? Or if I wuss out have any of you used any products for razor irritation or anything that works good for shaving? SHould I do it? Should I not?

Oh I think I should also mention I am going to do it myself :) With the help of some support. I have read up on it and these are the pointers I have taken:

-take pain reliever 1 hour before

-use a little baby powder on the area to keep the wax from sticking to the skin as little as possible.

- Obviously sanitize the area, and apply and rip off in the right directions

Halloween Festivities

We had so much fun this Halloween. We went to our annual Harbertson family Halloween party with all my cousins and aunts and uncles. Then we went to our friends party it was lots of fun with some pretty creative costumes (I have to steal some pictures and then I will post them)
Nolan and I had fun dressing up, Nolan is really into having orignal costumes. If it were up to me we would just pull something out of our closet and pretend to be something! Someone didn't know what we were--thing one and thing two from Dr. Suess. HELLO DIDN"T YOU REAd as a kid???

This picture is really funny cause after we took it we realized that we are doing the exact same thing with our hands! We are so meant to be :)

Ali and Greg the Yankee fans
Dad the coach, Staci the flapper, and Mom the irish man! SO funny-she acutally glued the fake hair to her face with ELMERS GLUE!! Her shirt says Kiss me I'm IRISH and she has kisses glued to her shirt! She one most creative costume for the second year in a row!

Shanna the flapper girl, CHECK out her hair! She looks like she could really live in that ERA!

All the great grandbabies! Lots of babies going on in this fam and they are all GIRLS!! Kade is a cute rodio clown, when his mom asked him what he wanted to be he said a RODIO CLOWN!
Hermione and the babies!

Lauren and Addie's party

Boys playing the doughnut game...they ended up eating the doughnuts off the floor!! NASTY!! THen all the girls avoided playing!
