CHRISTMAS WITH THE PAYNES

We spent Christmas and Christmas Eve with my family. We had so much fun doing all the fun traditions we did as kids! These traditions are what make Christmas for me! Sharing them with Nolan and seeing his excitement make it even better! We had a wonderful Christmas and definitely got spoiled! We are a little goofy and crazy on Christmas, its a big deal in the Payne house!

We went down to Salina the weekend before Christmas to visit Nolan's family. We had so much fun! We went shooting, and played with our ONLY niece and nephew, his mom prepared a beautiful Christmas dinner of prime rib! His parents gave us food storage for Christmas and we love it! Takes a lot of pressure off us and they did all the preparing for us thanks for helping us follow the prophet mom and dad! Thanks Poulson's for a wonderful Christmas Celebration!

I am 1 year old today!

Is he not the cutest thing? I really wish I could claim his as my own, I love him like my own, but this is the baby I nanny for! He is 1 year old today! Let's just say I am just a "LITTLE" attatched. This last week they went to Mexico and I missed this little guy SO MUCH! Nolan will tell you how many times I said "I miss Will!" I came back today so excited, I woke up earlier than usual just because I was so excited to see him! It has been such a pleasure to watch him grow, even though I have no idea what it is like to be a parent I have gotten just a little taste of what it might be like. I wonder sometimes..If i love Will this much I can't even imagine what it is like to have your own. When I first started watching will he couldn't even roll over! And now he is walking and talking! Happy Birthday little man! Thanks Tiffany and Phil for giving me the pleasure of taking care of your little angel I love him so much!

Holiday Times bring Holiday Fun!

We have done some fun Holiday activities so far this season! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! My parents have made every Christmas a memory. We have a ton of family Christmas traditions and it truly makes every Christmas something to look forward to! It has been fun to now include Nolan in these traditions he is almost as fun as watching a little kid at Christmas and to think he used to make fun of me for a few of them :) I have been wanting to put up my Christmas decorations since a week before Thanksgiving and Nolan has some very strong feelings about celebrating another Holiday until the previous one has been celebrated! So the day after Thanksgiving I jumped up and down on the bed saying: "wake up wake up do you know what day it is? It's Christmas decorating day!! YAY!!" He was such a good sport to be excited and help me! We have also gone to temple square with our friends Caden and Megan, and Tyrell and Kylee! It was a blast! Then we got invited to an ugly sweater Christmas Party at our friends Brandon and Kristens it was hilarious and Nolan won FIRST PLACE for the ugliest sweater..You will see just how ugly it was!!

Do we have a look alike?

Zach Efron? Zach? you gotta be kiddin! A couple of my cousins have teased Nolan to the death about his look alike. They said "we were watching Hairspray and we kept thinking Link looks like someone..NOLAN he looks like Nolan!" Nolan hates the idea of looking like the 13 year old girls' celebrity crush, and maybe it's the fact that Zach isn't as manly as he is portrayed in hairspray (a little feminine for the male breed) It is quite funny how Nolan reacts to their look alike comments! They say it's only Zach in hairspray..not High School Musical! I just don't see it, but what do you think?

COUSIN SLEEPOVER!!

This last weekend I had a blast having a sleepover with my cousins 5 little girls! Aren't they so stinking cute! Do you see those smiles? They were like that the WHOLE time! It was so much fun they are so spunky and told me story after story, sang me songs, (they have the "happy working song" from Enchanted ALL memorized it was my favorite!) they kept me laughing all night! Thanks for letting me steal your girls Greg and Cherry! We started the night with painting toenails..I forgot to take a pic. but then we did this: each one of us put our name in a bowl and I gave them all one dollar to spend on the person you drew out of the bowl, so it was off to All a Dollar! Secret Sister Dollars

We came home and ate pizza for dinner and then played twister!

Got ready for bed..I thought this was so cute we were all in there brushing our teeth and and laughing! Then we piled into my room to sleep..the two youngest wanted to sleep in my bed..what an experience! They were so cute when they all woke up with their bright smiles and jumped on my bed for girl talk!

In the morning Brandon brought over ice cream, doughnuts, and chocolate milk for breakfast!! Then we did all the girls hair..don't they look gorgeous? (Brandon rehearsed with them: Now when your mom asks you what you had for breakfast you say: wheat toast, fruit, and oatmeal!) They are all in their blue shirts for the BYU game! I love these girls! Thanks for coming over to play and keep me company while Nolan was gone!

My little boy at heart!

Yesterday we decided to window shop for Christmas and get ideas for each other and start our shopping for others on our list. A few weeks ago Nolan claimed he wanted a remote control car for Christmas! My reaction was probably a little less than understanding. I said "What! your kidding right?" Nolan than began to explain how much he had always wanted one when he was young and never got one..he said WHAT LITTLE BOY DOESN'T get a remote control car!? I was so taken back, i was still stuck on the vision in my head of a 24 year old Nolan in our apartment parking lot driving a remote control car...IS THIS NORMAL?

SO last night at target in the toy isle he is taking down car after car examining it, feeling the tires, and longing for that car. While I am sitting down looking at these boxes that say: for ages 5 and up, for ages 8 and up and thinking to myself: I knew he was a little kid sometimes but I honestly didn't think I married a 6 year old! Or is it due to the fact that I only had one brother and am not acclimated to the ways of boys? Our conversation went a little something like this!

J: Nolan that box says for ages 8 and up! Nolan, that box says for ages 8 and up!

N: Yea so?

J: I guess I just don't understand..I mean you don't see me playing with Barbies and Dolls.

N: That's cause dolls are stupid!

J: No their not! I mean do grown men really play with toy cars?

N: Jan even if you didn't know I wanted a remote control car if you saw the statement for ages 8 and up wouldn't you know that this car meant for me?

J: Laughing and Laughing...well at least you can admit it!

Man I love this boy! He makes everyday full of life and laughter! We are in trouble when we have a 5 year old boy of our own..I don't know how I will do with twins!!

FRIENDS, SHOWERS, AND FUN!

One of my dear friends Emily is getting married in December and we had a bridal shower for her this weekend! It was so fun to see everyone, talk to her about wedding plans, and see how happy she is! I am so excited for her she has a great guy! I have also been over helping her at her new little place! SO cute and so fun to start making it a home putting up curtains, and running to the store 5 times in the same night, eating dinner on the floor, and finding spiders! It's so cute!

So this is the 3rd picture in my file. This was taken on Valentines Day (our first one spent together) Nolan was so amazingly cute! He texted me about every two hours while I was at work telling me where to look i.e. in the middle console of the car, in the visor, glove box, and to my surprise everytime i would find a sweet card from him! Then the day continued full of surprises, he had flowers delivered to my work! Than I came home and there was a card on the bed telling me we were going to dinner, we went to Tepanyaki's my favorite! SO when I came home this is what I found the whole family room and stairs covered in rose petals, candles everywhere! And a picnic cake (my favorite kinds!) How sweet is that!!! I know right..? I am so lucky! So this is a picture of us on that night!

And of course a follow up picture so you can see the details! This light really doesn't do it justice with all the sparkling candles but we had turn on the lights to take the picture!

Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun! We went to my parents house to make scones and homemade rootbeer, and eat homemade chicken noodle soup! We had a lot of fun hanging out with the fam and handing out candy! Right before we left Nolan was acting so giddy, it was hilarious and I told him, you act exactly like a kid waiting to go trick or treating! I love it he is such a nerd!
