Dear fellow blog readers. I know that I have been completely horrible at updating our blog. There are a number of reasons. I won't bore you with them. I want to be better, I want my blog to be interesting like it used to. I used to take pictures of everything just so i could update our blog weekly. I have found that those who update their blogs often, get the most readers. To be honest our life just isn't that exciting! I hate to bring this up now, but our poor computer is at the end of its life. "The blue screen of death" is showing itself everytime it turns on, you can't go anywhere from this screen. We might have to break down and buy a computer for the first time. So there you have it, our blog might continue to be boring for awhile, so please I am begging you..don't give up on us, hang in there while we control the disasters that have poured upon us, car troubles, computer troubles, ect. We will return.

It's a start
It is a start of a new year and along with that comes New Years Resolutions! I have never really been one for New Years Resolutions from start to finish. I have good intentions. Let me tell you about a difference in the plain ole' life of Janica. I am determined to finish a resolution.
It all started when it was my turn for the Young Womens lesson. Open the manual and what do we find? A lesson on setting and achieving goals! Perfect..I am not the best at this. So I made a work sheet for everyone in our class that walks you through the steps of making goals. I wanted to cheat a little by starting with something easy. Something I knew I could do. So I started with reading my scriptures daily. Told the girls that this is what I was doing and I would report back next week.
I then brought up the subject of having someone to help you with your goals. So I tested the waters. I told them something I wanted to do is to start running. I want to start with a 5K this spring/summer. I have never been a runner but have always wanted to be one of those SICK people who actually enjoy it. So I made a questionaire and asked if anybody would be interested in doing this with me. We would get together 3 times a week and do a little program to get us up to a 5k. I got NONE of my questionaires back. It didn't really surprise me but I thought I would ask.
So the next week I brought it up again to more of the girls and leaders. I got 3 other people who wanted to do it as well!! I was thrilled! So we planned a date and time and I am happy report: we had a full turn out last night for running group! We all did well, and seem to be around the same level. I feel like we are all extremely excited and motivated, so I am happy that I don't have a bunch of flakes on my hands, because that could mean an incomplete goal for me.
So here I am posting this for everyone to see. Now wouldn't that be pretty embarassing for me, if I don't compete my goal of running a 5k. I know some of you that fit into the "SICK" people category, are thinking...a 5k that's it? Well its a start for me, and it will be an accomplishment for me, a non-runner to run over 3 miles. GO ME!!!

We have such an amazing prime rib dinner with Nolan's family every year. His mother goes to SOO much work to make the dinner happen, and it is beautiful. We had fun spending time together and enjoying the Christmas season. We were so excited to continue to build our food storage, THANKS MOM AND DAD!

This is just a few pictures of Christmas morning. I will have to get the rest of the pictures on soon. We had so much fun doing the yearly traditions with my family. Traditions are huge in the Payne family and I just can't imagine Christmas with out them. I am so grateful to my parents for instilling the importance of traditions in my life. I got spoiled rotten by My hubby. He picked out the cutest clothes for me and got me way more than I deserved. We also got spoiled by "santa" aka Bob and Lisa. It was a perfect Christmas.
